In brief. The company enters the Asia Best of Best Awards in its industry; the incoming leader enters the World CEO Awards if they hold chief-executive responsibility, or the Golden Entrepreneur Awards if they have effectively founded a new business inside the old one; a woman successor can add the Golden Women Awards. The evidence is the transition itself: what the next generation changed — digitalisation, new lines, new markets, governance — and what happened as a result, with dates. Diamond covers company and leader together.
Why succession and awards go together
A succession is a tenure with a clear start date and a clear mandate, and it usually produces change fast: new systems, new markets, professionalised governance, a diversified supply chain, a brand rebuilt. Those are the criteria the programmes publish — transformation, growth, innovation, leadership and management — and they are easier to evidence at a transition than at any other time. Recognition also serves a family purpose: an independent jury's verdict on the new leader's record is useful with the older generation, the bank and the staff.
Which programme for whom
- The company: the Asia Best of Best Awards in its industry — trading, manufacturing, real estate, retail, restaurants — with 75 to 131 categories each.
- The successor as chief executive: the World CEO Awards, most often Best Transformational CEO, Best Digital Transformation CEO or Best Growth-Driven CEO.
- The successor as founder: where the next generation has built a genuinely new business — a brand, a platform, a subsidiary — the Golden Entrepreneur Awards, including Best Serial Entrepreneur for those on a second venture.
- A woman successor: the Golden Women Awards as well, with its own jury.
- A hotel or restaurant group: the property in the International Travel Awards, the restaurants in the International Restaurant Awards, the GM in the World GM Awards.
Nominate the company and the next generation
One form, one evidence pack, two juries — the family business and the leader who is taking it forward.
What evidence a transition produces
The mandate — when the successor took charge and what they were asked to do. The changes — systems, products, markets, governance, supply chain, brand — with dates. The results — revenue, margin, customers, markets, staff retention, quality and safety measures — before and after, indexed if the family prefers. The organisation — the professional management team built, the board or advisory structures added, the next generation being developed in turn. The continuity — what was kept, and why, which juries value as much as what was changed.
Presenting it
Be specific about attribution: what the successor decided, as distinct from what the founder built. Be candid about the starting point; a turnaround is a legitimate story. Use indexed figures where the accounts are private. Attach documents — audited figures if the company publishes them, certifications, customer references, coverage. And choose the category by the evidence: a digital rebuild is Best Digital Transformation CEO, not Best Visionary CEO.
Packages and timing
