The short version. A technology company in Hong Kong enters the World Technology Awards (75 categories, judged worldwide) and, for Asia-level company recognition, the Asia Best of Best Awards — the same 75 categories. Founders enter the Golden Entrepreneur Awards, chief executives the World CEO Awards, women in technology the Golden Women Awards. From USD 299; entries close on 15 September 2026.

Hong Kong's technology story has three strands. Finance technology, because the city is a financial centre: virtual banks licensed by the HKMA, payments and wealth platforms, insurtech, and — since the licensing regime for virtual-asset trading platforms — a Web3 and digital-asset sector building under rules rather than around them. Research technology, from the universities through the Science Park and Cyberport into AI, biotech software, robotics and microelectronics, with InnoHK laboratories and a re-industrialisation push. And cross-border technology: product companies with engineering in Shenzhen and headquarters in Hong Kong, selling into the Greater Bay Area and out to the world.

The World Technology Awards and the Asia Best of Best Awards share 75 technology categories. The leadership programmes recognise the founders, chief executives and women leaders behind the companies.

Nominate a Hong Kong technology company

Seventy-five technology categories in two programmes, plus founder, CEO and women-in-technology recognition.

What the jury will ask a Hong Kong technology company

What does the product do? In plain language, with launch dates and delivered milestones. Who uses it? Customers, users, transactions or seats and retention — indexed or as percentage growth. Is it trusted? Licences (HKMA, SFC, Insurance Authority where relevant), certifications (ISO 27001, SOC 2), security record. Where has it been deployed? Bank platforms, government systems, regional enterprise roll-outs, mainland partners — with scope and outcomes. What is original? Patents, research collaborations, InnoHK or university links. Cross-border operations should be described by market.
