Healthcare Awards in Hong Kong

Hong Kong runs two health systems side by side: a public one under the Hospital Authority that treats most of the population, and a private one — a dozen private hospitals, thousands of clinics, specialist and dental practices, diagnostic centres — that serves those with insurance or means and, increasingly, patients from the Greater Bay Area. Behind them sit two medical schools of world rank, a biotech industry that raised more on the exchange's biotech chapter than anywhere outside the United States, pharmaceutical and device distributors, digital-health companies and an elderly-care sector expanding as the population ages faster than almost any in Asia.

The Asia Best of Best Awards' 75 healthcare categories cover private providers, diagnostics, pharma and biotech, medtech, digital health and care. Leaders are recognised through the World CEO, Golden Women and Golden Entrepreneur programmes. Public hospitals and the Hospital Authority itself are public bodies and may use the government page.

What the jury will ask a Hong Kong healthcare provider

What do you provide, and under which licences and accreditations? Department of Health registration, ACHS or JCI, ISO, laboratory accreditation. How many patients, and is that growing? Volumes and access measures over a defined period, indexed if needed. How good is the care? Clinical-quality and safety indicators, patient-experience scores — in aggregate, never patient-identifiable. What is new? Telehealth, records, AI diagnostics, day-surgery models, cross-boundary services, with dates. Who delivers it? Workforce development and retention in a market short of nurses.
